Faith in Ordinary Moments

OPENING PRAYER:

Lord, open our eyes to see You in the ordinary moments of our lives. Help us to recognize and seize opportunities to grow in faith and share it with others. Amen.

READ: Deuteronomy 6:7 (NIV)

Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Deuteronomy 6:7 (NIV)

REFLECT:

Pastor Carter used this verse emphasizes the importance of discussing God's commandments in everyday situations, making faith a natural part of daily life. Deuteronomy 6:7 reminds me that faith is not just for Sundays or special occasions but is meant to be lived out in the ordinary moments of life. Whether I am sitting at home, walking along the road, lying down, or getting up, I have countless opportunities to integrate my faith into daily activities. This verse challenges me to be intentional about making God's Word a natural part of our family's routine.

For example, during meal times, I can share a Bible verse or a story from scripture that relates to our current experiences. While driving, I can talk to my children about how God's principles apply to the situations we encounter. At bedtime, I can pray with them and reflect on God's goodness throughout the day. These ordinary moments become extraordinary opportunities to pass on my faith.

APPLY:

By making faith a natural part of our daily conversations, I am modeling a living faith for my children. They see that my relationship with God is not just a religious duty but a vital and integral part of who I am. This consistency helps them understand that faith is relevant to every aspect of life and encourages them to develop their own relationship with God.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will have a five-minute intentional conversation with the kid in my life.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, help us to see You in the ordinary moments of our lives. May our faith be evident in all that we do and say, and may it inspire those around us. Amen.
