Embracing the Unseen

OPENING PRAYER:

Dear God, open our eyes to see those who feel unseen and unloved. May we be Your hands and feet, reaching out to them with Your love and compassion. Amen.

READ: Luke 5:12-13 (NIV)

"While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, 'Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.' Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. 'I am willing,' he said. 'Be clean!' And immediately the leprosy left him."

In this passage, Jesus encounters a man with leprosy, a disease that caused social isolation and rejection. Jesus' willingness to touch and heal the man demonstrates His compassion and love for the marginalized.

Luke 5:12-13 (NIV)

REFLECT:

The story of Jesus healing the leper is a powerful reminder of His willingness to embrace those who are marginalized and rejected by society. In a culture where lepers were considered unclean and untouchable, Jesus' act of reaching out and touching the man was revolutionary. It demonstrated His love and compassion for those who are often unseen and unloved. This challenges us to consider how we can follow Jesus' example in our own lives. Are we willing to reach out to those who are marginalized and offer them the love and acceptance they so desperately need? As we reflect on this passage, let us be encouraged to step out of our comfort zones and embrace those who feel unseen. May we be willing to offer a listening ear, a helping hand, or a word of encouragement to those who are hurting. Let us remember that Jesus' love knows no boundaries, and He calls us to extend that same love to others.

APPLY:

Identify someone in your community who may feel marginalized or unseen. Reach out to them with a simple act of kindness, such as a note of encouragement or an offer to help with a specific need.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will grow closer to my one.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Lord, thank You for Your love and compassion for the marginalized. Help us to see those who feel unseen and to reach out to them with Your love. May we be Your hands and feet, bringing hope and healing to those in need. Amen.
