How to Use The Gifts You Have for the Kingdom
OPENING PRAYER:
God help us each day to invest in your kingdom.
READ:
“The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’ “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’ “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Matthew 25:20-29
REFLECT:
Wouldn’t it be nice to have bags of gold? Really, what Jesus was saying is that God has put many things in our care, and he entrusts us to use what he’s given us for the kingdom. Jesus doesn’t want us to hide the things he’s blessed us with.
APPLY:
What natural abilities has Jesus given you? If he has given you the talent to sing, then sing before the Lord, join a praise and worship team. If it’s the gift of encouragement, find others to pray for and encourage in their hard times. If you have a van and a student in school, pick up their friends and take them to Ignite. Take what you have, redeem it, and invest it into the kingdom. If you have a blessing of resources, invest those into the kingdom of God.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Lord God, help us to find out about our gifts and really learn what they are and use them in our daily life to your glory and we will be blessed.
