Trusting God with the Outcome

OPENING PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, as we conclude this devotional journey, help us to trust You with the outcomes of our efforts to pass on faith. Remind us that You love our children and those we influence even more than we do. Holy Spirit, strengthen our trust in You. Amen.

READ: Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

REFLECT:

This passage from Proverbs encourages us to trust in the Lord wholeheartedly and submit to His guidance. It aligns with the series' theme of trusting God with the outcomes of our efforts to pass on faith.

The command to "trust in the Lord with all your heart" calls for complete reliance on God, not just in some areas but in every aspect of our lives. The instruction to "lean not on your own understanding" reminds us that our perspective is limited and often flawed. Instead, we are to submit to God's wisdom and guidance, trusting that He will direct our paths.

During this past weekend's message, our guest speaker Holmes shared how he and his wife trusted the Holy Spirit to guide their children, even when they felt inadequate. This trust was crucial in navigating challenging situations and ensuring that their children remained grounded in faith. Andrea also emphasized the importance of trusting God, especially when feeling inadequate as a parent.

Trusting God with the outcome means recognizing that we are not in control, but He is. It means believing that God loves our children and those we influence even more than we do. It means submitting our efforts to Him and trusting that He will work all things for good.

Reflect on your own life. Are there areas where you struggle to trust God? Are you trying to control outcomes instead of submitting them to Him? This passage challenges us to let go of our need for control and place our trust fully in God.

APPLY:

Today, identify an area where you struggle to trust God with the outcome. Write it down and pray over it, asking God to help you release control and trust Him fully. Share this with a trusted friend or family member and ask for their prayers and support.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I WILL have a five-minute Intentional conversation with the kid in my life.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Father, thank You for reminding me to trust You with all my heart and lean not on my own understanding. Help me to submit every aspect of my life to You and trust that You will direct my paths. Strengthen my faith and help me to release control. In Jesus' name,
