"Strength in Surrender: When Less is More"
OPENING PRAYER:
Lord, teach us the power of surrender. Help us to see that in our weakness, Your strength is made perfect. Amen.
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me."
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 (NIV)
REFLECT:
This past weekend, Pastor Jarred shared how God reduced Gideon's army from 32,000 to 300 men, a seemingly impossible situation. This reduction was not a sign of defeat but an opportunity for God to demonstrate His power. Jarred emphasized that God doesn't need our strength; He needs our surrender. This principle is echoed in Paul's words to the Corinthians, where he speaks of delighting in weaknesses because they allow Christ's power to rest on us.
In our culture, strength and self-sufficiency are often celebrated, but God's kingdom operates differently. Jarred's journey of surrendering his health struggles to God is a testament to the power of letting go. When we surrender our weaknesses to God, we create space for His strength to be displayed in our lives.
This surrender is not passive resignation but an active trust in God's ability to work through our limitations. Jarred encouraged us to embrace our weaknesses and rely on God's grace, knowing that His power is made perfect in our surrender. As we do, we will experience His strength in ways we never imagined.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will tear down one altar in my life. Is there an area of weakness in your life. Surrender it to God in prayer, asking Him to show His strength through it.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Thank You, Lord, for Your grace that is sufficient for us. Help us to surrender our weaknesses to You and trust in Your strength. Amen.
