Following the Greatest of All Time
OPENING PRAYER:
Dear God, as we conclude this devotional journey, help us to commit to following Jesus, the greatest of all time. May His example guide us in every aspect of our lives. Amen.
"In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."

REFLECT:
This passage from Philippians beautifully encapsulates the essence of Jesus' life and mission. It calls us to adopt the mindset of Christ, who, despite His divine nature, chose to humble Himself and serve humanity. His obedience to the point of death on the cross is the ultimate demonstration of His love and humility. As a result, God exalted Him, affirming His position as the greatest of all time.
In his message, Rodney challenges us to follow Jesus' example in our own lives. This means embracing humility, serving others, and living in obedience to God's will. It requires us to set aside our own desires and ambitions, choosing instead to prioritize the needs of others and the advancement of God's kingdom. By doing so, we reflect the character of Christ and bring glory to God.
As we strive to follow Jesus, we are reminded that we do not do so in our own strength. The Holy Spirit empowers us to live out these values, guiding us in our daily decisions and interactions. By relying on His strength, we can overcome the challenges we face and live a life that honors God.
