Trusting God with the Next Generation

OPENING PRAYER:

Father, as we begin this time with You, turn our hearts toward the next generation. Help us see the role You've given us in planting seeds of faith in the lives of kids and students. Give us wisdom, courage, and compassion as we trust You to do the growing. Amen.

READ: Proverbs 22:6

"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."

REFLECT:

Proverbs 22:6 offers both a promise and a challenge, reminding us of the importance of laying a strong foundation of faith for the next generation. As we guide children and students in their spiritual journeys, we are called to trust God with the seeds we plant, knowing that He is the one who nurtures and grows them. Pastor Elliott’s message emphasized that while we play a crucial role in passing on faith, the ultimate transformation comes from God.

Prayer is a powerful tool in this process. It connects us to God's heart for the next generation and aligns our efforts with His will. As we pray for the young people in our lives, we invite God to work in their hearts, guiding and protecting them as they grow in faith. This summer, Pathway's camps for kids and students provide a unique opportunity for spiritual growth and transformation. By praying for these camps, we can support the work God is doing in the lives of young people.

Consider picking up a prayer tag at church this weekend, which prompts you to pray for a specific child attending camp this summer. This simple act of intercession can have a profound impact, as you lift up their needs and ask God to reveal Himself to them in powerful ways. As you pray, trust that God is at work, even when you cannot see the results. Your prayers are a vital part of nurturing the next generation's faith, helping them to experience the love and truth of Christ in a personal and transformative way.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will get off the couch and get in the game. Commit to praying for the next generation this week. If you don’t have a specific name, pray for Pathway’s summer camps, asking God to guide and protect our kids and students in their faith journey.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the privilege of investing in the next generation. Help us to trust You with the seeds we plant, knowing that You are the one who brings growth. May our efforts be a reflection of Your love and grace, drawing others to You. Amen.
