Love Beyond the End
OPENING PRAYER:
Eternal God, open our hearts to the reality of Your love that transcends time and space, and help us to live in the light of eternity.
"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?'"
John 11:25-26 (NIV)
REFLECT:
Pastor Elliott concluded the message with the powerful reminder that love in Christ is not just for this life but extends into eternity. This truth is beautifully captured in Jesus' words to Martha, affirming that those who believe in Him will never truly die. This is the hope that sustains us, even in the face of loss and death.
The story of Rodney’s parents illustrates this eternal perspective. Despite the pain of losing a child and the eventual passing of his father, their love was rooted in the promise of eternal life in Christ. This gave them the strength to endure and the hope to look beyond the present moment.
This passage invites us to reflect on our own lives and consider how we are living in light of eternity. Are we investing in relationships that have eternal significance? Are we loving others with the hope and assurance that comes from knowing Christ? Rodney’s story reminds us that our love, when rooted in Christ, has the power to transcend time and space.
As you reflect on this, consider how you can invest in your relationships with an eternal perspective, focusing on what truly matters. Let the hope of resurrection and eternal life in Christ shape your relationships and guide your actions. This is the love that never ends, the love that carries us into eternity.
I WILL STATEMENT:
I will passionately serve others to show Christ’s love to the world.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Thank You, Lord, for the promise of eternal life. Help us to live with hope and love that transcends this world, reflecting Your eternal glory. Amen.
