Trusting God with Our Children
OPENING PRAYER:
Father, as we conclude this devotional series, help us to trust You with our children. Give us the faith to believe that You are working in their lives, even when we cannot see it. Amen.
"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it."
Reflect: This proverb offers a promise and a principle: if we train our children in the way they should go, they will not depart from it when they are older. The sermon emphasized that while there are no guarantees, our role is to be faithful in teaching and modeling faith to our children.
Trusting God with our children means believing that He loves them even more than we do and that He is at work in their lives. It means being diligent in our efforts to teach them about God while also recognizing that their faith journey is ultimately in His hands.
The story of the pastor's son giving all his money because he trusted his earthly father to provide for him is a beautiful illustration of how our children can learn to trust God. When they see us trusting God and relying on His provision, they are more likely to develop that same trust.
