Seeking First the Kingdom of God

OPENING PRAYER:

Lord, as we conclude our devotional journey this week, help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Guide us to live in a way that reflects Your priorities. Amen.

READ: Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33 (NIV)

REFLECT:

Jesus' teaching in this passage is a call to prioritize God's kingdom and righteousness above all else. This means making God's priorities our priorities and seeking to live in a way that reflects His values. It means trusting that when we put God first, He will take care of our needs.

In the context of the message, this passage challenges us to prioritize God's kingdom over partisanship. Our allegiance to Jesus and His kingdom should take precedence over any political affiliation. This means evaluating our political views through the lens of our faith and seeking to live in a way that reflects God's values.

For new believers, this might mean starting to understand the importance of prioritizing God's kingdom in their daily lives. For mature Christians, it could be a call to deeper reflection on how well their lives reflect this priority. The key takeaway is that our allegiance to Jesus and His kingdom should take precedence over any political affiliation.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I WILL have a political conversation this week where I demonstrate Jesus’ love over my political positions.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the reminder to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Help me to prioritize Your values in my daily life and to trust that You will take care of my needs. Guide me to live in a way that reflects Your priorities and brings glory to Your name. Amen.
