It's Not About Who is Right, It's About Who You Can Love

OPENING PRAYER:

Lord, help us to understand that our calling is not to be right, but to love others as You have loved us. Open our hearts to see beyond our differences and to focus on loving those around us. Amen.

READ: John 13:34-35 (NLT)

“So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

John 13:34-35 (NLT)

REFLECT:

In the message, we learned that the essence of our Christian Walk is not about proving ourselves right but about loving others. Jesus emphasized this in His new commandment to His disciples: to love one another as He has loved us. This love is the hallmark of true discipleship and the most powerful testimony to the world.

Jesus' love was sacrificial, unconditional, and inclusive. He loved His disciples despite their flaws and failures, and He calls us to do the same. This kind of love transcends arguments, differences, and conflicts. It seeks the well-being of others and reflects the heart of Christ.

Reflect on your relationships and interactions. Are there times when you prioritize being right over showing love? How can you shift your focus to loving others, even when you disagree with them? Consider making a conscious effort to show love in a situation where you might typically argue or insist on being right. It could be a discussion with a family member, a debate with a friend, or a disagreement at work. Choose to respond with love, patience, and understanding, prioritizing the relationship over the argument.

I WILL STATEMENT:

I will show love to someone that I disagree with.

CLOSING PRAYER:

Heavenly Father, thank You for teaching us that love is more important than being right. Help us to embody this truth in our daily lives. Give us the grace to love others as You have loved us, and may our love be a testimony of Your presence in our lives. Amen.
